Operating Principles

Thriving Hive Consulting is owned and operated by Vivian Bush. I have established the following operating principles to hold the company to the highest standards of professionalism, assist my customers in serving the community, and honor God in my work.

Principle 1: Quality

  • I will give each project the attention and effort it needs for successful completion.
  • I will strive to ensure that at the conclusion of each project, customers feel they have received good value for their money.
  • I will treat others the way we would wish to be treated, and provide them with the quality of work I would wish to receive.
  • I will schedule projects realistically to complete them satisfactorily in the agreed-upon timeframe.

Principle 2: Integrity

  • I will only accept projects if I feel I can give them my best work and can truly benefit the customer.
  • If I undertake a project and feel that I am no longer able to give it my best work, or that it is not in the customer’s best interests to continue, I will terminate the contract under the agreed-upon terms.
  • If a project is in conflict with my personal ethics, morals, or Christian faith, I will decline the project or refer the customer to a consultant who can better meet their needs.
  • Inasmuch as they apply to my work, I will uphold the codes of ethics of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the National Association of Social Workers.
  • In grant writing activities, I will avoid writing proposals for two different customers in response to the same Request for Proposals, or will mitigate any conflict of interest in accordance with client contract terms.
  • I will not conduct fundraising activities on a commission basis.

Principle 3: Transparency

  • I will always strive to make sure that customers have all the information they need to make informed decisions in the best interests of their agencies.
  • I will communicate project progress clearly and regularly to customers, and make myself reasonably available to answer their questions.
  • I will inform customers about any other business or personal relationships that might influence my work for them.
  • If I recommend products or services from a vendor, I will fully disclose any business or personal relationships I have with the vendor, its associates, or its competitors.
  • Although my fee structures are flexible based on the nature of the project, I will fully disclose my fees in customer contracts and will not cause customers to incur additional costs without prior written agreement.

Principle 4: Individuality

  • I recognize that customers each have unique needs, and I will always strive to provide personalized, responsive services to meet those needs.
  • I will provide each customer with an initial free Discovery Consultation to help me understand what they want from me and to identify other needs they may have.
  • As I complete projects for customers, I will continue to communicate regularly with them and to adjust my work as needed to meet their needs, within the contractual scope of work.
